My name is Jaime Lane — Founder and CEO of LINK Lake Norman, a business created from the mosaic of everything I have learned in my adult life and loved after LKN Economic Development shut down in October 2024. When my “perfect fit” dream job disappeared, I couldn’t find anything that measured up… so, naturally, I built it myself. That’s just what I do — if adventure doesn't come my way, I chase it down with both hands. If you hear someone chatting up new friends, plotting the next big project, or swapping stories about the “old days” on the water, you’ve probably crossed paths with me. Raised in Winston-Salem — I’m a proud Mount Tabor Spartan (and I see you, Reynolds, West, and North rivals hanging out in LKN now!) — and I’ve been exploring Lake Norman since 1983. I know these waters like the back of my hand, especially after learning to navigate at night at age 16 (Mom, don’t worry, I survived, and made a friend or 2 on my adventures. You could call me outgoing, a daredevil, or someone who’s always stirring the pot — and you’d be right. Growing up, my main concern was when Dad would get home to make me do the thing that kept me from finishing college, MATH HATE IT. We would sit for hours, I would cry, run to my room, or just wait for him to get home and toss us on the tube and whirl us around in circles until the waves stacked as high as the dock — back before LKN was packed with new neighbors flooding the area! He claims we’re too rough with our kids, conveniently forgetting that, back in the day, he looked like Jack Nicholas with the eyes and the grin, as he’d cut straight through the waves and we’d often lose an article of clothing sinking quickly to the bottom. My life centers on my family: three AMAZING  PERFECT kids (yes, absolutely perfect, no arguments allowed), a husband who wisely picked the year 2000 to get married so he never forgets our anniversary, and my “covid village,” where I gained 8–12 extra kids arriving at JJ’s house during lockdown — making memories and raiding Costco like it was our job. Exhausting, overwhelmed, and living a yoga-style life every day. Returning to work in 2023 wasn’t a leap — more like a bumpy sprint through the land of ugliness, almost horror movie, and feeling at the bottom of the well village that lives under the lake, “what’s my worth now?” After 14 years at home raising MY 3 kids, nanning for my adopted 2 (and everyone else’s). Stepping back out into the world gave me fresh energy, opened my eyes, and reminded me how much I thrive when building connections and making an impact, and having REAL Adult Conversations, changed my life. My career has zigzagged through government, education, industries, manufacturing, and this community I love. Along the way, I’ve realized my true superpower: finding and supporting our people, building connectivity, forging to continue educating myself, and making every relationship count. If I want to know you, don’t worry — I’ll find you, whether you’re on land, water, or wherever our paths cross (which, honestly, happens to me every single day). I work hard, laugh loud, care deeply, and commit fully to every friendship and partnership. If you’re ready to build, connect, dare, and maybe hit the lake for some tubing or stories, let’s make something unforgettable — and always keep it fun!
