My Story:

I started college not really knowing what I wanted to do or what possibilities existed. Growing up on Lake Norman, waterskiing was our family sport, and the jobs I knew were the ones my parents and their friends had—construction, design, teaching, and nursing. I spent three and a half years in higher education, exploring but never quite finding my fit. Although I didn’t graduate—math and chemistry proved to be stumbling blocks—the experience was invaluable. It taught me that education is as much about discovering yourself as it is about earning a degree.

Creative Beginnings: Design and Industry

My professional journey began in textile manufacturing as a bedding designer for Pillowtex. I created, I traveled, I was a presenter, and worked alongside marketing, sales, and IT. This creative role sparked my love for design and problem-solving, which carried over into my work as an interior designer. I learned how to listen, adapt, and bring ideas to life—skills that have stayed with me ever since.

A Season of Devotion: Stay-at-Home Mom

For 19 years, I was a stay-at-home mom. It was a chapter filled with growth, patience, and rediscovery. As my children grew, so did my understanding of my own strengths and ambitions. I realized I had more to offer and was ready to re-engage with the world outside my home.

Rediscovery and Renewal: Finding My Voice

Discovering my passions later in life was a turning point. I embraced my outgoing nature and began sharing my experiences, both personal and professional. This openness allowed me to connect with others on a deeper level and gave me the confidence to step into leadership roles.
